Good developer experience is often the sum of tiny reductions in friction.
Automate repetition
If a task is routine, make the happy path one command. Formatting, validation, changelog generation, environment checks, and preview builds are all candidates for automation.
Give failures useful context
A failing CI job should tell the engineer what to fix, not just which step stopped. Prefer clear command output and links to the relevant artifacts.
Keep local and CI behavior aligned
The best workflow is one developers can reproduce locally. Sharing scripts and configuration reduces the “works on my machine” gap and makes onboarding easier.
