Cloud knowledge becomes much easier to retain when it is attached to something you actually built.

Build small systems

A tiny service with a queue, object storage, and scheduled job can teach more than a long list of service definitions. The constraints become memorable because you had to make tradeoffs.

Write down the tradeoffs

After a prototype works, record why you picked each component, what you would change at a larger scale, and which parts were intentionally simple.

Repeat with a new constraint

Take the same project and add a requirement: lower cost, stronger durability, faster deploys, or stricter access control. Reworking a familiar system is a practical architecture exercise.
